Amadablam Base Camp trek is a very well-known trek in the Khumbu region of Nepal. The trek goes through rugged and beautiful trails leading to the world’s highest mountains like Ama Dablam and Lhotse. The trek begins after a short flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. We head on to Phakding from Lukla. From Phakding we make our move to Namche Bazaar (3,440 meters) trekking along the beautiful Dudkhoshi river. The trail is moderate except for the last part where we ascend a steep incline to reach Namche.
Namche is a vibrant Sherpa town where we can easily find good places to eat, stay and shop for gear. The trail then passes through Tengboche village. The Tengbocche is a small village located at 3,867 meters where the largest gompa in the Khumbu region lies – the Tengboche Monastery. From Tengboche we can see clear and magnificent views of Nuptse, Lhotse, Everest, Thamserku, and Ama Dablam. From Tengboche, we head to our ultimate destination- Amadablam Base Camp. The base camp offers extraordinary sights of great snow-clad peaks rising above the Nuptse-Lhotse massif.
This is a very enjoyable trekking route. You will find yourselves stay at cozy stays at lodges, passing through beautiful Sherpa villages and Buddhist monasteries. The great Himalayas ever present, making their presence felt, you will not miss a single sight of the snow-clad giants. It has everything! The trek offers a chance to know about the lifestyle of the Himalayan people, their religion, customs and traditions. The region is filled with beautiful flowers and plants such as the rhododendron, magnolia, blue pine, char pine, juniper and hemlock. The trail is filled with rare creatures like the rare golden eagle, yellow and red billed choughs, and snow pigeon; if lucky, you might spot one!
