The Gokyo Lake Chola Pass to Everest Base Camp Trek takes you through the gorgeous Gokyo lake area. The Trek takes trekkers through a less explored trail to the base camp of Everest. The trail is more challenging than the traditional route as trekkers have to pass the incredible Cho La Pass which sits between in between the Gokyo and Khumbu valley. The trail goes through all the major villages of Khumbu. Thus, trekkers get the opportunity to experience the culture and traditions of the Sherpa people to the full. Villages like, Khumjung, Namche, Pangboche and Tengboche are major highlights where culture prevails over nature.
Gokyo Lake Everest Base Camp Trek starts at Lukla and takes about two weeks to Everest base camp. From Lukla the trail goes through Sherpa villages like Namche moving upwards through beautiful high altitude landscape to the Gokyo lakes. At Gokyo lakes trekkers get to witness a panoramic view of the Himalayas and the lakes fitting so perfectly with the high mountains in the backdrop, make this an unforgettable experience.
From Gokyo trekkers have the challenging task of crossing the Cho La (5363m). Crossing the Cho La is one of the many highlights of the trek, trekkers are put to the test as they tread along the rugged terrain of the high Himalayas.
