The Best Time for the Manaslu Circuit Trek:

The best seasons for the Manaslu Circuit Trek are undoubtedly spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). These months offer perfect, stable weather conditions and, of course, clear skies. Additionally, the pleasant temperatures ensure an unforgettable trekking experience.

Difficulty Level of the Manaslu Circuit Trek:

The Manaslu Circuit Trek is considered a moderate-to-challenging trek. The trek involves high-altitude trekking, steep ascents and descents, and crossing the Larkya La Pass. Adequate preparation and acclimatization are essential for a successful and enjoyable trek.

Trek Permits for Manaslu Circuit Trek:

1. Manaslu Restricted Area Permit

The cost of the Manaslu Restricted Area Permit (RAP) depends on how long you’ll be staying between Jagat and Dharapani. The cost of the Manaslu Restricted Area Permit (RAP) also varies depending on the time of year. For the months of September to November, the fee is $100 per person for the initial 7 days, with an additional charge of $15 per person for each subsequent day. From December to August, the cost is $75 per person for the first week, and an extra $10 per person for each day thereafter.

2. Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP)

Similar to the MCAP requirement, obtaining an ACAP is essential when embarking on the Manaslu Trek. The ACAP, or Annapurna Conservation Area Permit, grants you access to the stunning Annapurna Conservation Area through which the journey takes you. This permit holds significance as the expedition traverses a protected site. It is mandatory to present the ACAP at Dharapani, a requirement that remains valid until Besishar. The cost of this permit remains consistent for everyone.

For SAARC Nationals, the ACAP fee amounts to 10 USD, which translates to NPR 1000 per individual. On the other hand, for Non-SAARC nationals, the ACAP fee is set at 30 USD, equivalent to NPR 3000 per person.

3. Manaslu Conservation Area Permit (MCAP)

You need this Manaslu trek permit to start from Philim, the beginning of the Manaslu Conservation Area. The cost remains constant at $30 per person for the whole year. Plus, no matter how many days you spend within MCAP, the price doesn’t change, and there are no restrictions.

You will get the Manaslu Restricted Permit from us, Himalayan Trekking Pvt. Ltd., in Nepal. The other two permits can be obtained from the Nepal Tourism Board in Kathmandu or their office in Pokhara.
