Itinerary of Everest Trek for Family

On your arrival at Kathmandu Airport you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to the hotel.

After having breakfast you take a sightseeing tour around Kathmandu valley. You will visit many Buddhist and Hindu temples which reflect the local culture and tradition of Nepalese society. In the afternoon you will be taken back to your Hotel.

An early morning our guide will takes you to Tribhuwan international Airport in Kathmandu for the 35 minute scenic flight to Tenzing and Hillary Airport at Lukla at 2804meters. After landing our guide will to hotel breakfast and we have time to explore the Lukla town  while our Sherpa crew sort and load our trekking equipment. Then we begin our trek by descending towards the Dudh Kosi River where we join the main trail to Namche Bazaar, located just above Chaunrikharka (2713m). The walking is easy and after passing through the small village of Ghat (2550m) it is a short walk to Phakding. Overnight at Guesthouse.

We continue trekking along the banks of the Dudh Kosi, crossing this majestic river many times on exciting suspension bridges laden with prayer flags.
After entering Sagamartha National Park, the trail climbs steeply with breathtaking views. Namche Bazaar known as the Gateway to Everest which is home to many quality restaurants, hotels, lodges, shops, Money exchange, internet cafe and a bakery. Namche is one of the biggest villages along the whole Everest trail. Overnight at Guesthouse.

We will spend a day here in order to acclimatize and adjust to the thinning of the air. We will take a short trek to the museum celebrating the traditional customs of the Sherpa people to visit. Today we hike up the Syangboche Airport, around Everest View Hotel. From this point, we see rewarding views of the Himalayas with a stunning sunrise or sunset over the panorama of the Khumbu peaks. We trek to an altitude of 3860meters today. On reaching Tengboche guide will tell you about the local monastery situated here. The group will be taken to observe a prayer ceremony either in the evening or morning depending on how the days trekking went. Overnight at guesthouse.

Following down same trail, leaving the mountains behind us our descent takes us from Tengboche Monastery (3860 meters) before continuing back to the town of Namche Bazaar. Overnight at guesthouse.

Finally we return to Lukla where the trek began, Enjoying time to reflect on the trek as a group and the personal achievement of all those who took part. Overnight at guesthouse.

Morning 35 minute Scenic flight back to Kathmandu. Transferred back to our starting hotel. Free time on your own. Overnight at hotel.

Lukla Flight Information

The weather conditions in the mountain region of Nepal can change rapidly and aviation schedules are not as reliable as you might expect. The flight between Ramechhap/Manthali and Lukla is frequently delayed and maybe cancelled for the day or several days in succession. In the event your flight is cancelled we will either rebook your flight for the following day. It is recommended to apportion one or two extra days in case your flight gets cancelled and you are in short of scheduled time.
